- The 50% marks condition will not be insisted upon in the case of SC, ST, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-Servicemen candidates, and for candidates who possess a qualification higher than 12th (+2 Stage).
- The candidate must possess the prescribed educational qualification on or before 13 November 2026 (the closing date of application). Candidates waiting for the final results of the prescribed qualification are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit
- Age will be reckoned as on 1 January 2027.
- Minimum age: 18 years, Maximum age: 30 years (applicable to all four posts).
- This means the candidate must have been born on or before 1 January 2009, and not earlier than 2 January 1997 (for UR/EWS), 2 January 1994 (for OBC-NCL) and 2 January 1992 (for SC/ST).
- Age relaxation in the upper age limit: SC & ST — 5 years; OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) — 3 years; Ex-Servicemen — 3 years (UR & EWS), 6 years (OBC-NCL) and 8 years (SC & ST) after deduction of the length of service; PwBD — 10 years (UR & EWS), 13 years (OBC-NCL) and 15 years (SC & ST). |---|---|
| All candidates (except the concession categories below) | ₹500 |
| SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC) | ₹250 |
Out of the fee of ₹500, an amount of ₹400 shall be refunded (duly deducting bank charges) when the candidate appears in the 1st Stage CBT. The fee of ₹250 paid by the concession categories shall likewise be refunded (duly deducting bank charges) on appearing in the 1st Stage CBT. The fee can be paid through online mode only — internet banking, debit/credit cards or UPI. Candidates should note that EBC (annual family income below ₹50,000) is different from OBC and EWS, and EBC candidates are entitled only to fee concession, not job reservation.
Selection Process
- 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1): Common for all posts. 100 questions of 1 mark each — General Awareness 40, Mathematics 30, General Intelligence & Reasoning 30 — in 90 minutes. It is screening in nature, and there is negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.
- 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-2): Candidates 15 times the community-wise vacancies will be shortlisted from CBT-1. 120 questions — General Awareness 50, Mathematics 35, General Intelligence & Reasoning 35 — in 90 minutes, with negative marking of 1/3 mark per wrong answer. The normalized marks of CBT-2 are used for shortlisting for Document Verification.
- Document Verification (DV): Candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called on the basis of CBT-2 merit.
- Medical Examination: Appointment is subject to passing the prescribed medical fitness test (B-2 for Commercial Cum Ticket Clerk, C-2 for the two typist posts and A-3 for Trains Clerk).
The minimum qualifying marks in the CBTs are: UR — 40%, EWS — 40%, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) — 30%, SC — 30% and ST — 25%.
Important change in this CEN: The Computer Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) for Junior Clerk Cum Typist and Accounts Clerk Cum Typist has been dispensed with for CEN No. 07/2026. Candidates are still expected to have basic computer and typing proficiency, which will be assessed after joining.
